PUBLIC GARDEN

Location: Kiev, Ukraine
Architects: Pavlо Peker, Bohdan Filonov, Oleg Shaynoga
Total area: 0.08 ha
Status: fundraising for implementation

Borisa Grinchenka Street is located in the very center of Kiev, but it is not attractive for walking - part of the sidewalk was turned into a car parking, most of the buildings do not have active ground floors. The only green area is fenced and consists of several trees sticking out of the petrified soil on which grass does not grow.
We proposed making this square a meeting place for people, making the street more attractive. First you need to remove the fence and expand the pedestrian part. Instead of cracked earth, create illuminated paving, and set up benches. Plant shade-loving shrubs where they will not be trampled. Save all trees and shrubs by sprinkling them with filtering gravel. This will improve air and water access to the root system.
Thus, a new urban space with barrier-free access will appear.
